CIVL 4700  Introduction to Rock Mechanics [3-1-0:3]

 

The course introduces basic concepts of rock mechanics and its engineering application. The course covers rock mass classification; stress-strain analysis, strength and failure criteria of intact rock, discontinuities and rock mass, analysis of engineering problems in rock slopes, underground openings and rock foundation.
